SD4U DT Call

Do you have what it takes to become a design team member at ScrapbookDeals4U.com?? We are looking for a few stand out scrappers to join our team and serve from September 2009 through February 2010.

If you think you have what it takes, then read below for the details.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

The existing SD4U Design Team is looking for 3 creative, outgoing, talented fresh faces to inspire our members and join our team. We will be accepting submissions through July 31, 2009. The new designers will be announced once they have been contacted and have accepted their positions. The design team position will be from September 2009 through February 2010. We keep our Design Team Members very busy with lots of activities, such as designing with monthly kits, blog posts, daily message board activities, classes and tutorials, participation in board challenges, etc.. Please consider the amount of time that will be required to fulfill your DT requirements when deciding to apply.

SD4U asks that you are not a design team member for more than 1 other kit clubs due to the amount of time required to fulfill your position appropriately. Also, we ask that you remain respectful of our business by not posting about other clubs or online stores on our message board or in your comments.

DESIGNER RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to):

•Promoting SD4U whenever possible.
•Posting the SD4U blinkie and link on your personal blog.
•Posting photos of our monthly kits, along with samples of your work on your personal blog each month with a link back to either the store, or the message board. SD4U will in turn post a link to your blog on our site’s blog.
•Consistent daily participation on our message board.
•Designing at least 5 items per kit: 5 layouts or combination of 3-4 layouts and altered items or cards.
•Actively participate in creating at least one monthly tutorial or class. Take your turn posting to the blog when assigned. We do a rotation with a calendar posted each month. It is your responsibility to check that calendar and follow up with your assignment.
•Actively participate in challenges and contests.

OUR DESIGNERS RECEIVE:

•A free kit every month containing the industry's latest and greatest products!
•30% Product discounts for anything else in the store!
•Miscellaneous perks - free passes to CHA, special discounts, etc.!
•Designers term is through February 2010. At the end of the term we will re-assess where the team is and go from there.

IF YOU'RE INTERESTED:

•Email 5 of your best layouts and/or altered projects to info@scrapbookdeals4u.com
•Please include the following in your email:
1. Name, mailing address, phone number
2. Links to other online galleries that show your work (as well as your screen name)
3. Link to your blog, if you have one.
4. A short bio of yourself including other DT's you have been on (or are currently on) and your current activity on any forums and message boards.
5. As previously stated, photos of 5 layouts and/or altered projects that you feel best represent your style. Layouts can be 12x12 or 8 1/2 X 11

How is your week going? I have been flying solo this week with my hubby out of town. He comes home tonight just in time for me to go to bible study. Today we are having thunderstorms and theya re supposed to last through the whole week. I love summer storms. Perfect for staying in and scrapping.

Summer Camp Winners week #1

Tuesday's Tip

Today here in Louisiana its raining.. Very wet day here.. Its a great day to scrap...With that said I wanted to give you all a Tip.
When wanting shaped papers and or Diecuts I always buy one and trace the pattern on back of the cardstock or paper that I want the shape on then cut it out.Always keep a pattern so when you can't find that certain shape in the pattern or color you want you make your own.
Also If you see a great pattern paper that has pictures you like Cut them out glitter them up and you have a instant Embellishment..
If you have voted for week 2 at camp you need to do so soon..
I am very happy to see you all excited about week 2's challenge.We already have 2 Great entries from Jenny and Carrie. Can't wait to see more....

Good Morning Ladies... Hope you all had a great 4th Of July Weekend.. I know mine was a blast.

Well now that the holiday weekend is over its Time to focus on SD4U's Summer Camp..If you haven't voted yet For your favorite Layout for Week One at Camp Please do so. I must say WOW!!! On all the layouts and Projects that was entered in. You ladies did an amazing Job..

Ok I want to Challenge you to Post at least One of your 4th of July pictures on your Blog. Show us all what you have captured... Here's one of my Neice Eating a Hotdog.. I picked this picture cause I thought it was too Cute to watch her eat that Big Hotdog! Can't wait to see your Favorite Captured Moment and let us know why...

A little tip

In this economy we are all trying to get the most out of what we have on hand. I love getting a kit in the mail for this reason. But sometimes the color of an embellishment is not what I am looking for. Don't be afraid to alter your embellishments so that they work with your project. It can be something simple such as a light sanding. On this layout I wanted to use scalloped sticker, but the red edge was a little bright and distracking. So I lightly sanded the edges.





I want to wish everyone on this side of the pond a happy and safe 4th!!!

This week is going by so fast. It is almost the 4th of July. My 2nd favorite holiday, Christmas is my favorite :) What are your plans?
